X Factor USA Show Highlights & Videos from 11/3 – First Results Show

Last night the top 12 acts performed live and their fates put in the hands of America. All in all, every single one of the contestants did well and drew praise from the judges. If there was any criticism, it was between the judges, who did not agree with some of their colleagues choices in songs and acts. To recap, the top 12 acts are: Stereo Hoggz, InTENsity, Marcus Canty, Drew, Leroy Bell, Astro, Lakoda Rayne, Rachel Crow, Chris Rene, Josh Krajcik, Melanie Amaro, and Stacy Francis.

The show opened to the top 12 performing the Usher and David Guetta hit “Without You. We then learnt that the winner of this years competition would not only win $5 million, but would also get his/her/their own Pepsi commercial.

Right after, Outasight performed their hit tune “Tonight is the night”, which is also a Pepsi commercial song.

Then came the time for a decision. The judges, along with their contestants were asked to come onto stage. Steve then announced the top 10 acts, in no particular order. These then acts would be safe from elimination and move on to the top 11. The remaining two acts would then be voted on by the judges and the act with less votes would go home.

The top 10 announced were: Marcus Canty, Drew, Leroy Bell, Astro, Lakoda Rayne, Rachel Crow, Chris Rene, Josh Krajcik, Melanie Amaro, and Stacy Francis. That leaves the Stereo Hoggz and InTENsity as the lowest two acts. This did come as a bit of a shock considering how good the Stereo Hoggz were. It could have been the song choice. The same goes for InTENsity.

Both groups sang one more time. The Stereo Hoggz sang the Bee Gees hit Emotion, and InTENsity sang Kelly Clarkson’s “My life would suck without you”. Emotion was very well received by the crowd and unfortunately InTENsity sounded a bit like a high school musical.

Then it came down to voting. FYI if the two acts were to get the same number of votes from the judges, then the act with the lowest number of votes from the public would go home. Simon voted to send the Stereo Hoggz home, but Nicole, Paula and LA voted for InTENsity and they became the first act to go home from the live rounds. We are now down to 11. See you next week!
