X Factor USA Show Highlights & Videos from 11/14

Tonight, the singers take center stage. But they need to bring their A game because tomorrow night is double elimination night. As the hosts take the stage, the leadership board flashes from last week’s performances. The theme of tonight’s show is DIVAS. The X Factor’s biggest divas take the stage. Of course we are talking about the shows four judges. Again the songs that the contestants are taking on were made famous by the greatest divas around.

Jennel Garcia is first up with her rendition of Proud Mary by Tina Turner. It looks like Demi has bombed on her song choice for Jennel. Demi wants Jennel to appear as the rock diva next door but she is making her into an 80’s wannabe star. Jennel has great vocals but she is still not where she needs to be. The judges all agreed that she was back in this competition.

Tate Stevens takes on Shania Twain and her hit song From This Moment. Tate usually sounds so smooth in his performance but tonight’s song sounds the total opposite. What he does bring to the song is pure emotion. After the song, the crowd is elated by his performance. The judges all loved him and Simon is willing to write him a five million dollar check.

Diamond White sure has the name of a diva. She sings Halo by Beyonce. But we have to remember that Diamond is only 13. She has a tendency to go off but this week does an amazing job of keeping right on key, note by note. LA said she filled Beyonce’s shoes perfectly, Simon called her a future star and Britney said she was proud of her.

Little Miss Beatrice Miller takes on Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper. Beatrice is taking on a lot for a teenager. She is being raised by two moms and she feels as though she needs to be the one who holds the family together. It is as if she can’t be a kid, she has adult responsibilities. Her performance was not her best. LA thought the song choice was wrong for her but Demi loved the song choice.

Lyric 145 take on We Will Rock You by Queen and ET by Katy Perry. They had a change in their song choice just hours before take the stage. It is not hard to imagine Queen on that list of songs for tonight since Freddie Mercury was definitely a diva. There is definitely one person in this group that carries the songs for the remainder of the group. The judges overall thought the group did okay and improved since last week but the song choice was all wrong.

Arin Ray took on Madonna’s Crazy for You. He was still upset from being very low on the leader board last week. Wrong song choice this week. He was too pitchy and he just demolished this song. The girls thought he was boring and the guys didn’t like his performance any better.

Paige Thomas takes on Last Dance by the diva herself, Donna Summer. Paige totally bombs on this song. She was just plain awful. Her voice is taken over by the backing track. I don’t think Paige will be around for many more weeks with these types of performances.

Fifth Harmony sang Hero by Mariah Carey. There is no doubt that Camila has the best vocals of the group. LA said they had a hiccup at first but gave a great performance. The remaining judges loved their performance. Simon even went as far as to say he thought they could win this.

Carly Rose took on Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On. Carly was amazing. She sang it great; she put on a terrific performance. LA said that they could be looking at the next winner of X Factor. Britney was proud of her and Simon thought the last note she hit was stunning.

Vino Alan sang Let’s Stay Together by Tina Turner. This song allowed Vino to express his soulful side. This was by far the best performance so far tonight. Simon thought he needed more confidence and that he needed to take on bigger songs so that he can test the waters a bit more.

Emblem 3 took on No One by Alicia Keys. Strange because I don’t consider Alicia Keys as a diva but the group gave a horrible performance. They took that song and added a more Reggae flair to it which did not work at all. Britney didn’t think they should have been 6th on the leader board and Demi said they were brilliant.

CeCe Frey sings All By Myself by Celine Dion. CeCe is not the most likeable character on the show. She whines and complains like a diva herself. And true to herself, she bombed. She was pitchy, she had emotions that were fake and she is just a joke. The judges saw through the negative and loved her.
